With 'Au Revoir' the four Berliners from ENGST cut their third single from the upcoming »Vier Gesichter« EP and once again prove their versatility. After the harder decoupling 'Dunkelheit' & 'Gute Jahre', the band is now adopting more sentimental tones, and not without reason, as singer Matthias Engst reveals.
"The time of the pandemic not only ensured that many of us got into financial difficulties, but also ruined a lot in terms of hearts and relationships, like it did in my case. "Au Revoir" describes the feeling when a relationship simply cannot be saved, but you try to hold on to it as long as possible.
For me, the song was a kind of conclusion and processing of a difficult breakup. The heart is and remains simply the largest muscle in the human body and therefore hurts the most when it is injured. "
